李明德，中国社会科学院法学研究所研究员，中国社会科学院长城学者，中国社会科学院大学博士生导师，曾任中国社会科学院知识产权中心主任，现任中心名誉主任。中国法学会学术委员会委员、最高人民法院知识产权司法保护研究中心学术委员、国家版权局《著作权法》第三次修订专家委员会委员。曾任中国知识产权法学研究会常务副会长，国家知识产权专家咨询委员会委员。荣获“2014中国知识产权影响力人物”、“2014 中国版权事业卓越成就者奖”等荣誉称号。
1978年考入北京大学，先后在北京大学历史系、法律系获得历史学学士、法学硕士和法学博士。1995年1月到1997年1月在美国华盛顿大学法学院作访问学者，学习和研究美国知识产权法。2001年2月到8月在德国马普知识产权法研究所担任客座研究员，研究欧盟和德国知识产权法。2006年10月到2007年3月，在日本知识产权法研究所担任客座研究员，研究日本知识产权法。
访问过美国、加拿大、德国、法国、比利时、奥地利、意大利、西班牙、瑞典、印度、泰国、日本、韩国、新加坡、芬兰、澳大利亚等国。参加过一系列国际性和区域性学术会议上，用英文发表过"数字经济与知识产权"、"世界贸易组织与中国知识产权保护"、"TRIPS协议与传统知识、基因资源和民间文学"、"驰名商标保护的理论与实践"、"中国知识产权制度的建立与发展"、"中日驰名商标保护比较研究"、"中国的专利制度及其发展"、"中国知识产权执法体制改革"、"中国知识产权法律的修订"等演讲。
出版专著、译著（包括合著、合译）16部，并在《法学研究》、《环球法律评论》、《知识产权》和《中国版权》等刊物上发表论文约120余篇。主要著作有：《知识产权法》（2008年第一版，2014年第二版，2023年第三版）、《美国知识产权法》（2003年第一版，2014年第二版）、《欧盟知识产权法》（合著，2010年第一版，2023年第二版），《日本知识产权法》（合著，2020年）、《特别301条款与中美知识产权争端》（2000年），《著作权法》（合著，2003年第一版，2009年第二版，），《著作权法概论》（2005年），《知识产权法》（2007年），，《著作权法专家建议稿说明》（合著，2012年）、《中美知识产权制度比较研究》（2025年）等。
Li Mingde
Mr. Li Mingde, a national of China, was graduated from Peking University, receiving his Bachelor, Master and Ph. D degrees there. From January 1995 to January 1997, he was a visiting scholar at the School of Law, University of Washington in Seattle, United States. From February to August 2001, he was a guest researcher in Max-Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition, and Tax Law in Munich, Germany. From October 2006 to February 2007, he was an international guest researcher in Institute of Intellectual Property of Japan.
He jointed Institute of Law of China Academy of Social Sciences in July 1991, and CASS Centre for Intellectual Property Rights Studies in January 1997. Now he is a senior professor at the Institute of Law and the director of the CASS Centre for Intellectual Property Rights Studies. He also served as an arbitrator for China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission.
His research field is intellectual property law. He has published seven books and about 50 articles in China. In addition to research activities, he has participated in many conferences and symposiums conducted by UNESCO, World Intellectual Property Organization, National Copyright Administration of China, China Intellectual Property Office, and China Trademark Office.
