Profile of Speaker:

Li Lin, born in November, 1955. Researcher and PhD supervisor of Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

In 1984, he obtained Bachelor Degree in Law from Southwest University of Political Science & Law, and in 1987 and 1990 he respectively obtained Master of Law and PhD in Law from Graduate School of CASS. From 1993 to March 1995, as a visiting scholar in, he accomplished his postdoctoral research program in Columbia Law School.

Since 1987 when he entered the Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, he has served as Deputy Director, Director of the research lab, Division Chief and Assistant Director, deputy editor in chief of Social Sciences in China Press, and deputy director of the Institute of Law. Now he is Director of the Institute of Law, Chairman of Academic Committee of Institute of Law and Research Institute of International Law, Head of Department of Law, CASS Graduate School as well as vice chairman of China Law Society, Vice president of Association of Jurisprudence of China, standing director of China Society for Human Rights Studies, Chairman of Academic Committee of Beijing Law Society, member of Beijing Academic Degree Committee, and consultant for the construction ministry, All China Federation of Trade Unions, the Beijing Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee, Beijing Law Publicity Leading Group, and Rule of Law in Zhejiang, etc.
