An Investigation Group from CASS Institute of International Law Led by Director Chen Zexian Visits Tibetan Academy of Social Sciences

In the afternoon of August 10, 2015, an investigation group of CASS Institute of International Law, led by Director Chen Zexian, visited Tibet and held a symposium with the Party Sectary of Tibetan Academy of Social Sciences, Mr. Che Minghua, and his colleagues. At the symposium, Mr. Che expressed his warm welcome to members of the Investigation Group and gave them a detailed introduction to the history, culture, and the current situation of Tibet, the historical development and current situation of Tibetan Academy of Social Sciences, and the current efforts made by the Academy to establish an Institute of South Asia and an Institute of Law under it. He also explained from the perspectives of historical conditions, institutional choice, interferences from various factors, and the quality of citizens the special nature, the importance and the urgency of Tibetan work, thereby provided the Investigation Group with useful experience and reference for it to better understand the actual situation, especially the practice of ruling the autonomous region by law, in Tibet. Director Chen Zexian thanked Mr. Che for the introduction, pointed out that the CASS Institute of International Law wishes to carry out exchange and cooperation with Tibetan Academy of Social Sciences in the areas of the Blue Book on the Rule of Law, publicity on Tibet, human rights dialogue and publication of journals, and discussed with Mr. Che and his colleagues possible cooperation projects in these areas between his Institute and the Tibetan Academy of Social Sciences.
