In the morning of October 16, 2014, Deputy Director Mo Jihong of CASS Law Institute held a meeting with Professor Timo Koivurova, Director of Northern Institute for Environmental and Minority Law of University of Lapland. During the meeting, Professor Mo expressed warm welcome to the Finnish guest and gave him a brief introduction to the cooperations and exchanges between CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law and Finnish academic institutions in recent years. Professor Koivurova thanked Professor Mo for his warm reception, introduced the organizational structure of and main academic researches carried out by his Institute, and expressed hope to carry out cooperation between his institute and the two CASS institutes on issues relating to the protection of Arctic environment. He also exchanged opinions with his Chinese colleagues on such issues as the control and treatment of air pollution in cities, the mechanism for the implementation of environmental law and the exploitation and development of Arctic islands.
