A Delegation of Friedrich Ebert Foundation of Germany Visits CASS Law Institute

In the morning of July 15, 2014, a ten-member delegation of Friedrich Ebert Foundation of Germany, led by Professor Herta Däubler-Gmelin, the Human Rights Spokesperson of the Presidium of German SPD and former Minister of Justice of Germany, visited CASS Law Institute and held a meeting with researchers of the Institute. The meeting was chaired by Professor Chen Su and participated by Professor Liu Zuoxing, Professor Zhou Hanhua, Professor Liu Huawen, Professor Xiong Qiuhong, Professor Liu Renwen and Professor Xie Zengyi.

During the meeting, Professor Chen Su welcomed the German guests and gave them a brief introduction to the history of CASS Law Institute and the role it played in the construction of the rule of law in China. At the request of the German guests, scholars of CASS Law Institute gave introductions on the new measures adopted and new progresses made by China in the construction of the rule of law since the Third Plenary Session of the Eighteenth CPC Central Committee, specially the objectives and tasks of the current judicial reform, the background, basic situations and results of, as well as existing problems in, the pilot projects of judicial reform. After the introductions, the two sides held frank and in-depth discussions and exchanges of opinions on issues of common interests.
