Director Chen Zexian of CASS Institute of International Law Attends Annual Conference of the Criminal Law Research Committee of China Law Society

On October 19-21, the annual conference of the Criminal Law Research Committee of China Law Society was held in Tianjin. Professor Chen Zexian, Director of CASS Institute of International Law and Executive Vice Chairman of the Committee, attended the conference and presided over the opening ceremony.

The annual conference was sponsored by the Criminal Law Research Committee of China Law Society and organized by the Higher People’s Court of Tianjin Municipality and the Tianjin Society of Criminal Law. Taking “The Transition of Contemporary Chinese Society and Adjustment of Criminal Law”, as its main theme, the Conference consisted of presentations and group discussions around such subjects as “the coordinated development of criminal law and other related branch laws” and “measures for the prevention of the crime of corruption in China”. Over 300 experts and scholars from various central and local government organs, colleges and universities and research institutions throughout the country participated the conference and carried out in-depth discussions and extensive exchanges of views on the subject matters of the conference. The collected papers of conference, co-edited by Professor Chen Zexian, Mr. Li Shaoping and Mr. Huang Jingping, will be published by Chinese People’s Public Security University Press.
