The Seminar on the Protection of New plant varieties and Biotechnological Intellectual Property Rights, organized by CASS Center for IP Law Studies, was held in Beijing on 28 June 2015. The seminar was participated by experts, scholars and practical workers from various Chinese government organs, universities and research institutions, including the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress, the Supreme People’s Court, the State Bureau of Intellectual Property, China Center for Intellectual Property in Agriculture of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Peking University and Tsinghua University. It was divided into four sessions, in which the participants carried out in-depth discussions on various issues around the topics of “the revision of the law on the protection of new plant varieties” and “protection of biotechnological intellectual property”.
