The Seminar on “Scientific and Technological Innovation and Legal Protection of Traditional Knowledge” Held in Beijing

On June 28, 2014, the Seminar on “Scientific and Technological Innovation and Legal Protection of Traditional Knowledge”, jointly organized by CASS Center for IPR Studies and China IP Training Center, was held in Beijing and participated by over 40 scholars and experts from the CASS Center for IPR Studies, the Policy and Law Department of State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, the Legal Affair Bureau of State Intellectual Property Office, Nanjing Institute of Environmental Science of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Central University of Nationalities, Beihang University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, and Beijing Film Academy and China Jiliang University. During the one-day seminar, the participants carried out in-depth discussions on the theoretical dilemma, legislative impasse and practical difficulties currently faced by the legal protection of traditional knowledge, folk literature and art, and genetic resources.
