Center for Competition Law Studies of CASS Institute of International Law Organizes the Second Small-Scale International Seminar in 2014

On May 25, 2014, the Center for Competition Law Studies of CASS Institute of International Law successfully organized the second small-scale international seminar in 2014. The seminar was chaired by Professor Wang Xiaoye, Director of the Center, and participated by more than 35 scholars and experts from various universities, research institutions and government organs both in China and abroad, including American Antitrust Institute, Law School of Pennsylvania State University, the Anti-Monopoly Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce of China, China Development Bank, Renmin University of China, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and China National School of Administration.

Four anti-monopoly law experts from U.S. and China, including Mr. Albert A. Foer, Chairman of American Antitrust Institute, Professor Beth Farmer of the Law School of Pennsylvania State University, Ms. Xie Lin, Deputy Chief of the Anti-Monopoly Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce of China, and Mr. Hu Tie, a partner of Deheng Law Offices, each gave a lecture at the seminar. In their lectures they discussed such issues as the anti-trust law in U.S., the anti-monopoly law and competition in China, law enforcement process of the system of concentration of business operators in China, and the private enforcement of the Chinese anti-monopoly law.
