On April 9, 2016, the Eleventh Capital Forum of Jurists, jointly organized by Beijing Law Society and CASS Law Institute, was successfully held in Beijing. The Forum took “Xi Jinping’s New Ideas, New Thoughts, and New Strategies of Promoting the Rule of Law in China in an All-round Way” as its theme and was attended by near 300 representatives from China Law Society, relevant departments of the Government of Beijing Municipality, Beijing Law Society and various research organizations affiliated to it, various colleges, universities, and research institutions in Beijing, law societies of Tianjin Municipality, Hebei Province, Gansu Province, Qinghuai Province and other provinces, as well as from various mass media. At the Forum, Professor Zhang Wenxian, Vice Chairman of Beijing Law Society, and Professor Li Lin, Vice Chairman of Beijing Law Society and Director of CASS Law Institute, each gave a keynote speech. The titles of their speech were “Theoretical Basis of Ruling the Country by Law and Building China into a Country under the Rule of Law: Introduction to Xi Jinping’s Thought on the Rule of Law” and “Theoretical Logic and Innovative Development of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Ruling the Country by Law in an All-round Way”, respectively. Following the keynote speeches, the participants of the Forum carried out in-depth discussions from different perspectives on various concrete theoretical and practical issues relating to Xi Jinping’s thought on the rule of law.
