This book, as a part of the book series "China Forum on the Rule of Law", is a collection of papers on judicial transparency and judicial reform written by experts and scholars from various universities, research institutions and judicial organs in China and submitted to the "Press Conference on Indices of Sunshine Administration of Justice in Zhejiang Province and Seminar on Judicial Openness". The "Indices of Sunshine Administration of Justice in Zhejiang Province" were the result of quantitative assessment of judicial transparency in Zhejiang Province carried out by the Law Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences as an independent third party at the request of the Higher People's Court of Zhejiang Province. This innovative project represents a pioneering effort at promoting transparency and democracy of the judiciary, demonstrates the achievements and judicial self-confidence of people's courts, and provides an example and a model for people courts throughout the country in enhancing judicial transparency in China. The book mainly introduces the methods used in the assessment of indices of Sunshine Administration of Justice in Zhejiang Province, the innovative practice of Sunshine Administration of Justice in Zhejiang Province, and the pioneering role played by people's courts in Zhejiang Province in the construction of rule of law in China.
