On the September 27-28, the Annual National Conference on Criminal Law (2014) and Celebration of the Thirtieth Anniversary of the Establishment of China Society of Criminal Law was held in Beijing. The event was participated by over 400 governmental officials, scholars and experts from the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China, the Political and Legislative Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, the Ministry of justice, the Ministry of National Security, and China Law Society.

During the conference, the participants carried out extensive and in-depth discussions around such topics as the basic theoretical issues of criminal law, the crime of endangering national security and the crime of terrorism, the crime of corruption, and internet crimes. Professor Chen Zexian, Director of the CASS Institute of International Law and Executive Vice-Chairman of China Society of Criminal Law, presided over the presentations and the closing ceremony, Professor Liu Renwen gave a keynote speech at the conference and Professors Qu Xuewu and Deng Zibing attended the conference.
