On October 28, 2013, a delegation from the Office of the Leading Group on Ruling the Province in accordance with Law of the Government of Guangdong Province, led by Mr. Zhang Yuhang, the Executive Head of the Office, visited CASS Law Institute and exchanged opinions with members of the Research Team on the Investigation of situation of the rule of law on matters relating to the annual investigation of the situation of the rule of law at the investigation base in Guangdong Province.
During the meeting, Professor Tian He briefed the members of the delegation on the progresses and expected forms of the result of the investigation carried out at the base in the year 2013, and expressed opinions on the selection of subjects of investigation in the next year.
Mr. Zhang Yuhang thanked the CASS Law Institute for its support to the Government of Guangdong Province in its work of ruling the province in accordance with law. He pointed out that the leaders of the Government of Guangdong Province followed closely and thought highly of the Blue Book on the Rule of law in China and that they had showed great interest in and given substantial support to the work of the Guangdong investigation base. He also briefed the members of the project team on the recent progress of the work of his Office and put forward suggestions on the selection of subjects of investigation of national situation of the rule of law in the year 2014.
Director Li Lin of CASS Law Institute briefed the guests on the situation of implementation by CASS Law Institute of innovation projects in the fields of philosophy and social sciences and, in light of the briefings given by Mr. Zhang Yuhang and Professor Tian He, put forward his own proposals on the subjects of investigation for the next year.
Other participants of the meeting included Mr. Yao Zeyuan, Vice Secretary General of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Guangdong Province, Mr. Chen Yonglong, Deputy Head of the Office of Ruling the Province in accordance with Law of the Government of Guangdong Province, Mr. Zhang Hualin, a senior staff member of the Secretariat of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Guangdong Province, and Mr. Lu Yanbin, Ms. Wang Xiaomei and Mr. Li Yanjie from the Department of National Situation of the Rule of Law of CASS Law Institute.
