Officials of EU Delegation to China Visits CASS Law Institute

In the morning of July 7, 2013, Mr. Thibault Heuze, a Counselor of EU Delegation to China, visited CASS Law Institute and held a discussion with the researchers of the Department of Survey and Studies of National Situation of Rule of Law of the Institute.

The discussion was chaired by Professor Tian He, Director of the Department. Professor Tian welcomed Mr. Heuze and his colleagues from the EU Delegation to China and briefly introduced to them the status and functions of the CASS Law Institute.

Mr. Heuze said the his organization was very interested in the Blue Book on the Rule of Law compiled by the Department and the research reports on government transparency and government procurement published in this book, and wished to carry out exchange and cooperation with the scholars of the Department in this field.

Professor Tian He introduced to the EU guests the compilation work of the Blue Book on the Rule of Law, the methods used in recent years for the assessment of government transparency, and progresses made by China in the disclosure of government information, and briefly explained from the perspective of disclosure of government information the results of the survey on the situation of implementation of the government procurement system. Associate professor Lu Yanbin introduced the system of administration of government procurement and the current situation of the disclosure of government information.

Mr. Heuze said that EU Delegation was very interested in the researches carried out by the Department, which are of great significance, and hoped to carry out various forms of cooperation with and obtain in a timely manner the latest research results of the Department.
