Recently, Professor Liu Huawen, Deputy Director of CASS Institute of International Law and Executive Director of CASS Center for Human Rights Studies, was interviewed by China Human Rights Network on the Chinese experience in safeguarding the right to life and the right to health in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 Pandemic. In the interview, Professor Liu pointed out that, in the response to the pandemic, the Chinese Government has always given top priority to the safeguarding the people’s right to life and right to health, which embody the Chinese human rights outlook, maintained a balance between the personal freedom and privacy on the one hand and the right to life and the right to health of others and of society as a whole on the other hand. Party General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward the idea of building a community with a shared future for mankind many years. Now we can see that this idea is very far-sighted. During the fight against the pandemic, China has actively shared not only its information and experience, but also its materials and resources with the international community, which exactly the embodiment of the spirit of a community with shared future for mankind.
