Recently, Professor Sun Xianzhong, who is a research fellow at CASS Law Institute, a member of the Constitution and Law Committee of the National People’s Congress and a deputy to the Twelfth and Thirteenth National People’s Congress, was interviewed by a special CCTV program on the “Two Sessions” on the significance of the Civil Code. In the interview, Professor Sun pointed out that the Civil Code is closely related to every member of society from the moment of his birth to the moment of his death. A person can avoid political and social activities, but he cannot avoid having civil relations with other members of society. For example, he will havepersonal relationship with his parents, his siblings, etc. as soon as he is born; he will have property relationship with others if he owns any property; he will be in a copyright relationship if he writes a book; he will be in trademark relationship if he do business.
