On September 1, 2019, Professor Liao Fan, a research fellow and the head of Department of Research Coordination and International Cooperation of CASS Institute of International Law, was interviewed by the China Global TV Network (CGTN) program “Global Watch” on the exercise of restraint by Hong Kong police in law enforcement. In the interview, Professor Liao pointed out that, the Hong Kong police, faced with the violent acts of some extremists, have shown high degree of professionalism and restraint in the performance of their duty, without using any unnecessary force. He also pointed out that the arrested violent protesters have been accused of multiple crimes and will be punished in accordance with law.
