Professor Mo Jihong reviews the past 20 years of the development of the rule of law in China in an interview by CCTV column “Law Today”

 

On December 30, 2019, Professor Mo Jihong, Director of CASS Institute of International Law, was invited by the CCTV Column “Law Today” to participate as a guest in a special program “Tidbits of 20 Years Development of the Rule of Law in China”. In the program, Professor Mo discussed a classical case in which a farmer requested compensation for the damages to the turnips growing in his vegetable plot caused by a policeman in the process of pursuit and arrest of a criminal suspect, and, by comparing the people’s attitude towards this case in different time periods, reviewed the progress and evolution of the rule of law in China during the past 20 years.
