Professor Chen Su Attends the Assessment Meeting of Post-doctoral Research Proposals under the Project on the Construction of the Rule of Law in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

 

Professor Chen Su, Director of CASS Law Institute attended the first Assessment Meeting of Post-doctoral Research Proposals under the Project on the Construction of the Rule of Law in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, held in Shenzhen on November 24, 2019. The Assessment Committee consisted of six members. Apart from Professor Chen Su, who served as the chairman of the assessment committee, other committee members included Professor He Hairen and Professor Chen Xinxin from CASS Law Institute, Professor Dong Hao from Guangzhou University, Professor Luo Weijian from the University of Macao, and Professor Lin Feng from City University of Hong Kong.

At the assessment meeting, three post-doctoral researchers, Dr. Deng Weiqiang, Dr. Kong Jieqiong, and Dr. wang Yiying, each gave a presentation of their proposed post-doctoral research - on the construction of a new unified mediation mechanism in Macao and neighboring cities in the Greater Bay Area, the characteristic financial positioning of the Greater Bay Area from the perspective of the fiduciary duty of trustees, and the coordinate legislation in the Greater Bay Area, respectively. The members of the Assessment Committee confirmed the research thinking of the three post-doctoral researchers and offered their guiding opinions on the path, method, framework, and expected results of their researches.

Post-doctoral researchers of the Project on the Construction of the Rule of Law in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area are high-end legal researchers jointly supervised by CASS Law Institute and Administrative Committee of Zhuhai Hengqin New District. In accordance with the Outline for the Development Plan of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area and in light of the actual conditions of the Greater Bay Area and Zhuhai Hengqin New District, they will focus their researches on major theoretical and practical issues relating to the linkage between the legal rules of the Mainland and those of Hong Kong and Macao, with a view to providing theoretical basis and reserves of demonstrative plans  for the construction of the rule of law in in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
