The Seminar on “Optimizing Business Environment and Improving the IP Law” Held in Beijing

 

 

 

 

The Seminar on “Optimizing Business Environment and Improving the IP Law” was held in Beijing on November 2-3, 2019. The seminar was jointly sponsored by CASS Center for IP Studies and China IP Training Center and attended by experts and scholars from the National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People’s Court, China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), Beijing IP Court, Beijing Internet Court, Tinghua University, Renmin University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law.

 

In the first part of the opening ceremony, presided over by Professor Guan Yuying, Director of the CASS Center for IP Studies, keynote speeches were given by Mr. Yan Xiaohong, Vice Chairman of the Commission on Culture, Cultural History and Study Commission of the National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Professor Wu Handong from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Mr. Zhang Chengzhi, Head of the IP Protection Department of CNIPA, and Mr. Li Jianfu, President of the Third Civil Division of the Supreme People’s Court.

 

In the second part of the opening ceremony, presided over by Professor Guo He from the Law School of Renmin University of China, keynote speeches were given by Mr. Cui Shoudong, Head of Trade Mark Department of CNIPA, Mr. Wang Peizhang, Head of Public Service Department of CNIPA, and Mr. Gao Shenghua, Head of the Department of Reexamination and Invalidation of CNIPA.

The seminar was divided into four parallel sessions in which the participants gave presentations and carried out discussions on various issues around the following topics: optimization of business environment and the copyright law; optimization of business environment and the trademark law; optimization of business environment and improvement of IP law; and optimization of business environment and the patent law.
