Professor Tian He once again engaged by the Supreme People’s Court as an expert advisor on cybersecurity and informatization

The Conference on the Establishment of the Second Expert Advisory Committee on Cybersecurity and Informatization of the Supreme People’s Court and the Colloquium on the Construction of Intelligent Courts was held in Beijing on September 6, 2019. At the conference, Professor Tian He, Director of CASS Center for National Rule of Law Indices Studies and a research fellow at CASS Law Institute, was once again engaged by the Supreme People’s Court as an expert advisor on cybersecurity and informatization and received her letter of engagement from Mr. Zhou Qiang, the President of the Supreme People’s Court, along with 19 other members of the new expert advisory committee. At the colloquium, Professor Tian He expressed her opinions put forward suggestions on the construction of intelligent court, confirming the achievements made by peoples’ courts throughout the country and pointing out the direction of future efforts.

Since Professor Tian was first engaged by the Supreme People’s Court as an expert advisor on cybersecurity and informatization in November 2015, she and a research team led by her have carried out third-party assessment of the informatization of courts in the whole country and published the national think Tank report – The Third-Party Assessment Report on Court Informatization in China, which has been translated into English, Russia and many other languages and become an important showcase of the achievements made by China in court informatization. Since 2017, the research team, in cooperation with the Information Center of the Supreme People’s Court, has carried out extensive investigations on court informatization in the whole country and published the Blue Book on the Rule of Law in China: Development Report on Court Informatization in China for three consecutive years. The book has filled in a gap in this field and had a major impact on people’s courts throughout the country and on the society as a whole. In August 2019, the Development Report on Court Informatization in China (2018) won the second prize for excellent annual report in China.
