The Chinese criminal law circle resumed the research on the general theory of the constitution of crime after 1978. The general theory of the constitution of crime has the cornerstone status in the entire system of criminal law theory and, to a large extend, its scientificity determines the scientificity of the researches on other criminal law issues. During the past 40 years, the researches carried out by Chinese criminal law circle around the general theory of the constitution of crime has been aimed at enhancing its scientificity of this theory and ultimately raising the overall level of criminal law research in China. Through a series of related articles selected from the Chinese Journal of Law and its Introduction, this book gives the readers a glimpse of the overall situation and development trend in this research field in China in the past 40 years.
