Education and Work Experience

 

September 1959-July 1964: undergraduate student, Law Faculty, Peking University;

August 1964-Now: Research fellow, CASS Law Institute;

September 1987-September 1988: guest research fellow, Law Faculty, Tokyo Metropolitan University, research subject: Evolution of Japanese Divorce System after War World II.


Main Research Fields: civil law, family law, inheratance law, and law on women


Research tops: legislation on marriage and family; compensation for damage in the field of marriage and family; human rights of women; implementation of laws on the protection of weomen.

Council Member, China Association of Marriage and Family;

Deputy-director, CASS Center for Women and Law Studies;

Council member, China Association for the Prevention and Control of STD and Aids;

Investigations and Legislative Activities:

Professor Chen Mingxia has participated, as members of drafting committees, expert group or expert consultation groups, in many large investigations and research projects on such issues as 'abduction and trafficking in women' and 'implementation of laws on the protection of women' and written many investigation reports, and many of the suggestions in these reports have been adopted by the relevant government departments.

Professor Chen has participated in the drafting of many laws, including the 1980 Marriage, the current Marriage Law, the Law on the Protection of Rights and Interests of Women, Labour Law, Adoption Law, Law on Maternal and Infantal Health Care, and Law on the Prevention and Control of Aids.
