The Innovation Forum of CASS Key Discipline of Criminal Law Science (2020) Successfully Held

 

 

The Innovation Forum of CASS Key Discipline of Criminal Law Science (2020), sponsored by CASS Law Institute and jointly organized by the Criminal Law Department of the Institute and Beijing Lishang Law Firm, was successfully held in Beijing on October 24-25, 2020. The forum, which took “new research topics of the rule of criminal law” as its theme, was attended by over 100 experts and schools, including scholars from such universities and research institutions as CASS, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, and China University of Political Science and Law, officials from such state legislative judicial and public security organs as the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Justice, and the People’s Procuratorate of Zhejiang Province, as well as representatives from relevant enterprises and law firms, such as Alibaba, Ant Financial Services Group, and Beijing Lishang Law Firm. During the two-day forum, the participants carried out in-depth discussions on various issues around the following seven topics: “Draft Amendment (XI) to the Chinese Criminal Law”, “criminal governance against the background of the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic”, “the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic and the application of criminal law”, “new types of cybercrime and their criminal law regulation”, “big data, AI and the criminal law”, “the intersection and boundary between the criminal law and the civil law”, and “the integration of criminal law science and multi-dimensional criminal law science”.
