The Fourth Innovation Forum of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law in 2020 was successfully held on October 20, 2020. At the forum, Professor Zhao Lei, Deputy Head of the Commercial Law Department of CASS Law Institute and a researcher under the innovation project “Deepening Reform of the Commercial System: Basic Strategy and Implementation Approach”, gave a lecture entitled “The Nature and Significance of Digital Legal Currency”. The lecture was presided over by Professor Chen Jie, Head of the Commercial Law Department of CASS Law Institute, and attended by over 40 researchers from the two institutes and graduate students from the Law Faculty of CASS Graduate School. In the lecture, Professor Zhao discussed such issues as “what is digital currency”, the architectural system of DC/EP, the currency credit system of modern society, legal issues involved in DC/EP, and the significance of issuing DC/EP.
