The Fourth Innovation Forum of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law in 2020 Successfully Held

   

 

The Fourth Innovation Forum of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law in 2020 was successfully held at the conference room of the two institutes on September 22, 2020. The forum was organized by the Innovation Project Team on “the Construction of the Criminal Rule of Law and the Development of Criminal Law Science”. At the forum, Professor Liu Renwen, Head of the Criminal Law Department of CASS Law Institute and the leader of the innovation project team, gave a lecture entitled “A Commentary on the Draft Amendment (XI) to the Chinese Criminal Law and Suggestions on Its Improvement”. The lecture was presided over by Professor Jiao Xupeng, an associate research fellow at the Criminal Law Department of CASS Law Institute and a member of the innovation project team, and attended by researchers from the two institutes as well as news students of CASS Graduate School. Three other members of the innovation project team, Professor Zhang Shaoyan, Professor Huang Fang, and Associate Professor Fan Wen, served as the commentators at the lecture. In the lecture, Professor Liu Renwen gave an introduction to basic situation of the eleventh amendment to the Criminal Law, discussed the main problems in the amendment, put forward concrete suggestions on the improvement of the draft amendment, and explored related issues. After the lecture, the three commentators each made comments on issues discussed in the lecture.
