The 20th Internet and Information Law Roundtable: the Seminar on the Regulation of Live Internet Broadcast Marketing Held

 

The 20th Internet and Information Law Roundtable: the Seminar on the Regulation of Live Internet Broadcast Marketing was held at CASS Law Institute on August 8, 2020. The roundtable was jointly organized the Internet and Information Law Department of CASS Law Institute, the Internet and Information Law Society of China Law Society, the Editorial Board of the Journal of Cyber and Information Law and the CASS Innovation Project “the Construction of a Big Internet Power and Legal Innovation”, and attended by about a dozen of experts and scholars from various universities and research institutions.

At the beginning of the roundtable, Professor Zhou Hanhua, deputy director of CASS Law Institute, the person in charge of Internet and Information Law Society of China Law Society and the Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Cyber and Information Law, gave an opening speech on behalf of the sponsors of the roundtable. Then, Mr. Tang Xiaodong, the chief of the Advertising Supervision Division of State Administration for Market Regulation, introduced the drafting process of the Guiding Opinions of State Administration for Market Regulation on Strengthening the Regulation of Live Internet Broadcast Marketing. Next, the participating experts and scholars gave keynote speeches and carried out in-depth discussions on various issues relating to the Opinions. At the end of the roundtable, Professor gave a summarization of the issues discussed at the roundtable.

The roundtable was sponsored by the Internet and Information Law Research Committee of China Law Society, and jointly organized by CASS Center for Culture Law Studies, the Internet and Information Law Department of CASS Law Institute and the Alliance of New Governance Think Tank. It is an interdisciplinary and cross-cutting small pragmatic meeting mechanism participated by the government, the internet and information industry, the academic circle and the mass media. Its purpose is to facilitate discussions on major issues in the development of the of cyber and information legal system and to provide advices and suggestions to the government on these issues.
