Expert Forum on the Assessment of the Construction of a Law-Based Government Held in Beijing

 

The Expert Forum on the Assessment of the Construction of a Law-Based Government, hosted by CASS Law Institute and jointly organized by the Administrative Law Department of CASS Law Institute, the CASS Innovation  Project on the Construction of Administrative Rule of Law in the Process of Building a Moderately Well-off Society in an All-round Way, and the Special Committee on Government Regulation of Administrative Law Society under China Law Society, was held in Beijing on January 5, 2020. The forum was attended by experts and scholars from the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the Supreme People’s Court, the Ministry of Justice, China Law Society, the Party School of CPC Central Committee, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Northwest University of Political Science and Law, Guangzhou University, South China Normal University, Tianjin Normal University, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, and CASS.

At the opening ceremony, presided over by Mr. Feng Jun, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, opening speeches were given by Mr. Gan Cangchun, Vice Chairman of China Law Society, Professor Chen Su, Director of CASS Law Institute, and Professor Ma Huaide, President of China University of Political Science and Law. At the forum, which was divided into two units, the participants carried out thorough discussions on the major theoretical and practical issues of the assessment of the construction of a law-based government. At the closing ceremony, Professor Ying Songnian from China University of Political Science and Law and Professor Chen Guoping, Secretary of Joint Party Committee of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law, each gave a summarization of the forum.
