The Seminar on Hot Issues of International Law (2019·4), organized by CASS Institute of International Law, was successfully held in Beijing on October 10, 2019. The seminar, held in cerebration of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of CASS Institute of International Law, was attended by over 40 experts and scholars from various research institutions, associations, and government organs, including CASS, the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, General Administration of Customs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Public Security, China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association, China Customs Brokers Association, the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, the American Chamber of Commerce in China, the Conference of Asia Pacific Express Carriers, and the Editorial Board of China Customs. At the seminar, which took “Comparative Law Study and Reform of the Customs Law System” as its theme and was divided into three units, the participations gave speeches and carried out discussions on a wide range of issued around the following three topics: the current situation of development of international economy and trade and the background of the revision of the Customs Law; academic suggestions and proposals on the revision of the Customs Law; and practical suggestions and proposals on the revision of the Customs Law.
