The Eighteenth Sino-Japanese Seminar on Comparative Law was held at CASS Law Institute in Beijing on September 4, 2019. The seminar, which took “New Technologies and Law” as its theme, was sponsored by CASS Law Institute and attended by about 40 Chinese and Japanese scholars from such universities and research institutions as the Institute of Comparative Law at Waseda University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Peking University, China University of Political Science and Law, CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law. During the one-day seminar, the participants gave speeches and carried out discussions on a wide range of issues around such frontier topics as “new technologies and commercial law”, “new technologies and civil law”, “new technologies and the criminal law”, and “new technologies and procedure law”.
