On August 3, 2019, a delegation of 30 flag-bearers from 24 middle schools in Macao, accompanied by officials from the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macao SAR, the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR, and Macao Youth Association of Patriotic Education, visited CASS Institute of International Law and participated in the patriotic educational exchange with researchers of the Institute, which was the first of a series of activities held in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the establishment of CASS Institute of International Law.
The first part of the activity was presided over by Professor Mo Jihong, Director of CASS Institute of International Law, who began the activity by singing the song “I Love You, China”.
Next, Professor Chen Guoping, Secretary of the Party Committee of CASS Institute of International Law, Mr. Wu Yangfan, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macao SAR, Ms. Lu Jing, Director of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR, and Mr. Huang Jialun, Chairman of Macao Youth Association of Patriotic Education, each gave a speech in which they expressed hope of strengthening the cooperation between CASS Institute of International Law and the relevant organizations in Macao.
In the second part of the activity, presided over by Professor Chen Guoping, researchers from CASS Institute of Law and CASS Institute of International Law gave a series of keynote speeches around the topics of the basic law of Macao SAR and the national flag system.
Professor Mo Jihong gave a keynote speech entitled the Yesterday and Today of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law, in which he reviewed the historical development and main achievements of the two CASS institutes.
After Professor Mo’s speech, Ms. Rong Zhenzhen, Deputy Secretary General of Macao Youth Association of Patriotic Education, sang the “Song of Seven Sons”.
Professor Chen Xinxin, Deputy Head of the Department the Rule of Law Strategy of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law, gave a speech entitled “the Constitution, the Basic Law of Macao SAR, and Macao SAR in the Development Plan of the Great Bay Areas”.
Mr. Huang Jialun, Chairman of Macao Youth Association of Patriotic Education, sang the song “The Red Flag Flying”.
Mr. Zhu Yue, a post-doctoral researcher at the Law School of Tsinghua University, gave a keynote speech entitled “the National Flag Systems of Countries around the World”.
Professor Li Zhong, Head of the Department the Rule of Law Strategy of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law, gave a keynote speech entitled “the National Flag System and the Basic Law of Macao SAR”.
The second session ended with the chorus “Ode to the Motherland”, sang by all the participants.
On the afternoon, the delegation visited the New Culture Movement Museum, located on the May Fourth Street near CASS Institute of International Law.
