Spring Forum of Chinese Journal of Law (2016) Held in Suzhou City

On 16-17 April 2016, the Spring Forum of Chinese Journal of Law (2016), jointly sponsored by the Editorial Board of Chinese Journal of Law and Wang Jian Law School of Suzhou University, was held in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. The Forum took “the rule of criminal law and the revision of the Chinese criminal law” as its theme, and was attended by over 50 experts and scholars from various universities and research institutions throughout the country, including CASS Law Institute, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, China University of Political Science, Beijing Normal University, Jilin University, Wuhan University, Huadong University of Political Science and Law, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Northwest University of Political Science and Law, Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, Xiamen University, Yantai University, Nanjing University, Dongnan University, Nanjing Normal University, Suzhou University, and Law Institute of Jiangsu Academy of Social Sciences, as well as officials from the Department of Treaties and Laws of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Forum was divided into four parts in which the participants gave keynote speeches and carried out in-depth discussions on various issues around such topics as “the revision of the criminal law and the scientific nature of criminal legislation”, “criminal punishment and its revision”, “reflections on the revision of names of crimes in the criminal law”, and “other issues relating to the revision of the criminal law”.
