A delegation from Korea Legislation Research Institute, headed by Mr. Rhee Ik-Hyeon, the former president of the institute, visited CASS Law Institute and held a meeting with Professor Chen Guoping, Deputy Director of the Institute, on November 28, 2019. At the meeting, Professor Chen Guoping gave Mr. Rhee Ik-Hyeon a brief introduction to CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law and the role they played in the construction of the rule of law in China. He pointed out that CASS Law Institute and Korea Legislation Research Institute have similar status and functions and therefore a big potential for cooperation between them. He hoped that the two institutes would strengthen communication, deepen cooperation, and jointly promote the legal exchange between and the construction of the rule of law in China and South Korea. Mr. Rhee Ik-Hyeon gave Professor Chen Guoping an introduction to the status and role, research emphases, and foreign exchange and cooperation activities of Korea Legislation Research Institute. He spoke highly of the role played by CASS Law Institute in the construction of the rule of law in China and expressed the hope that the two institutes would strengthen their cooperation and jointly promote the legal exchange between the two countries. At the end of the meeting, the host and guest reached broad consensus on the future cooperation between the two institutes. Also attending the meeting was Professor Xie Zengyi, head of the Department of Research Coordination and International Cooperation of CASS Law Institute.
