Director Chen Su of CASS Law Institute Meets Professor Knut Benjamin Pissler from Max-Planck-Institute for Comparative and International Private Law

 

 

On November 13, 2019, Professor Knut Benjamin Pissler from Max-Planck-Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Germany visited CASS Law Institute and held a meeting with Professor Chen Su, director of the Institute. The meeting was also attended by Professor Sun Xianzhong, a research fellow at CASS Law Institute and a member of the Academic Commission of CASS, and Professor Xie Zengyi, Head of the Department of Research Coordination and International Cooperation of CASS Law Institute.

At the meeting, Professor Chen Su extended warm welcome to the German guest and pointed out that CASS Law Institute and Max-Planck-Institute for Comparative and International Private Law have had a long and close relationship of exchange and cooperation in the past several decades and jointly played an active role in promoting the legal exchange between and the development of the rule of law in the two countries. CASS Law Institute attaches great importance to its relationship with Max-Planck-Institute and hopes to continue to expand the legal exchange and cooperation with the Institute, especially in researches on hot legal issues in the two countries. Professor Pissler indicated that Max-Planck-Institute also attaches great importance to its cooperation with CASS Law Institute and hopes that the cooperation agreement between the two institutes would be implemented smoothly, so as to promote the legal exchange between the two countries. Professor Sun Xianzhong gave Professor Pissler an introduction to the current situation of the compilation of the Civil Code in China, exchanged views with him on various issues relating to the Chinese Civil Code, and put forward some proposals on the future cooperation between the two institute.

Through the meeting, the hosts and the guest had reached broad consensuses on the future cooperation between the two institutes.
