Social law is a new branch in the Chinese system of law. With the continuous deepening of the reform, social construction has become an important objective of economic and social development and social law is playing increasingly prominent role in this process. This book, published as a part of the series of book in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of CASS Law Institute, discusses such issues as the definition and systematic structure of social law, and the orientation, important ideas and institutional construction of various branches of social law. The articles collected in this book were written at different stages of reform and opening-up in China and, as such, reflect the social changes and the continuous development of social law in the country. They are also the epitome of the hard work, innovation, and exploration carried out by social law scholars of CASS Law Institute in the past 60 years.
