The First Interdisciplinary Forum of Young Scholars in the Field of Ecological Law Held at CASS Law Institute

The First Interdisciplinary Forum of Young Scholars in the Field of Ecological Law, sponsored by CASS Law Institute and organized by the Ecological Law Department of CASS Law Institute, was held in the conference room of CASS Law Institute on July 20, 2018. The forum, which took “consensus and differences: a dialogue between ecological law and traditional jurisprudence” as its theme and aimed at providing a platform of exchange and interaction for the community of ecological law researchers in China, was attended by 50 young scholars from over 20 research institutions, universities and government organs, covering such fields as ecological law, jurisprudence, criminal law, civil law, international law, comparative law, and Marxist theory.

The forum was divided into three units in which the participants gave speeches and carried out discussions on various issues around the following topics: “boundaries and trend of development: “environmental law and ecological law”, “adjustment and reform: ecological law from the perspective of traditional jurisprudence”, “integration and innovation: codification of ecological law and institutional building”, and “margins and frontlines: crossing of boundaries and practice of ecological law”.
